Ron Rouse Sr., publisher of the "The M Voice" passed away June 1st. He was 58 but had battled health problems for many years. A great civic activist and leader, he sponsored the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day events in Reading, often bringing speakers and entertainers into town for the day. He was also instrumental in getting part of Buttonwood Street designated Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
I got to know Mr. Rouse a bit while attending and helping a bit with MLK Day. The man will be missed greatly by the entire community in addition to his loving family.
