I've contacted all of my contributors here and Kirk Wentzel at The Pennsylvania Progressive and given them carte blanche to write anything they want about Democratic officials and candidates.

I had asked some of them to hold back writing embarrassing personal information out of respect for fellow Democrats.

Kirk has very interesting info about some of them... especially the reason he calls Rep. Caltagirone "Uncle Tom." He also has memories of going to Reading High School with one of our candidates. Very fond memories.

It is interesting to note that when it suits your purpose, "gossiping" (which is what it is when it is personal info---) on any topic is a-ok....Then, as you see fit any type of attack is permissible. Not all of your above comments are pertinent to the original topic...they are just, well... stupid.
But, let me guess here, you are going to sue me...or call the police, or report me to someone, soemwhere. lol....you are such a laughable fool!

This is why you are not taken seriously...you intimidate no one...you have no special power or persuasion. I think a reference I heard recently in an elevator about you being a "big windbag" sums it up. I can hardly wait for the juicy sequel to your riveting newsflash... NOT. ...

What, only certain individuals can engage in gossip? Isn't that a double standard? The malicious gossip being spread about me isn't fair and if that's the game these people want to play then it's fair to disclose FACTS about others. Not gossip but facts.

By the way, I checked your blog site after Saturday's meeting, and to be honest I haven't been here before and really had no desire until Ms. Perrige brought it up to even bother to come here, but hey I guess she wants us to view your stuff perhaps, who knows.

Anyway, I noticed that in fact, when I try to access the link to go to the actual Berks County Democratic Party website, with the link you provide, that I do get to the site, but in the URL entry bar of my browser, it still says...http://www.berksdemocrats.com
which is a problem. By having your website address still showing, but the Berks Democratic Party Website displayed, it does truly confuse one into thinking that you are somehow hosting the Berks Conty Democratic Party website.

I believe this is called either mirroring or hot-linking and it is quite a no-no in the world of internet service providers, especially if you do not have specific authorized permission to mirror the site or to hot-link to it.

I would caution you to look into this as something of this calibre could be actionable, not from the standpoint of what was brought up in the committee meeting, but from the stand point of your terms of service provisions with your hosting ISP and the ISP of that hosts the Berks Democratic Party website. Most ISP's from my experience, will have no problem pulling the plug or blocking hot-linking or mirror-hosting, when they realize that it is not properly authorized.

p.s. After that fiasco on Saturday and the majority's expression of the issue in question, I am giving serious thought to leaving the party, leaving all parties and staying that way, because I don't know if I can trust any political party anymore.

John Morgan

There have no been no hotlinks or anything other than a courtesy link I provided to the County Committee website. I removed all links to Democratic Party websites from my blogs as soon as I got home. I will no longer provide support for A party which just voted to sue me.

There is no way what you say happened can happen. My blogs are hosted at Typepad.com and the County Committee website is hosted by Campaign Window.

At any rate the link from my website to the County Committee website is gone. In fact if you were trying to access it as I was deleting it that may explain your problems. I don't even know what a "hotlink" is much less how to make one. All the links on my website are done through Typepad's service. Of course there will never again be a link to the BerksDems.org website here.

By the way, mirror websites are perfectly legal as long as there's a disclaimer. Ask George W. Bush about the site GWBush.com.

The fact my site has a prominent disclaimer that it isn't affiliated with the Democratic Party shields me from all litigation. Contact the Electronic Frontier Foundation for case law on that. It does give me standing to sue the County Committee however. By the way, all members of the Committee could be held personally responsible for legal damages.

Relying on legal advice about internet law and cases from the likes of John Ryan and Darryl Connor is like having your podiatrist perform brain surgery. Neither one has a clue what they're talking about.

I'm already milking this for national publicity and it's on several national blogs. Thanks so much for the free publicity folks. So many more people are reading these articles than ever before.

The minute the Party sues me I'll be on the phone with Fox News.

You are gossiping! Bringing up a person's divorce has nothing to do with any political issues. Just your half-assed attempt to make someone look bad by discussing personal details about a very personal matter. (such as a person's divorce) First off, you shouldn't discuss anyone's divorce, relationships, etc. as you clearly have never had one other than your ongoing love affair with Mrs. Butterworth! (had you ended that relationship, maybe you wouldn't be such a big, fat lard ass) Secondly, when you make little threats to start blabbing about people's personal business (which again, is striclty gossip since it didn't involve you and you have no way of knowing to be factual)you should consider all the skeletons in your own closet, which if exposed would make you look even worse than you already do. You blather on and on as though you are real important. You are less significant than a two-week old sun- dried dog turd! You take yourself and your dim-witted thoughts way too seriously. You are a big pig who ought to get a life of your own and stop minding everyone else's business.

"There is no way what you say happened can happen. My blogs are hosted at Typepad.com and the County Committee website is hosted by Campaign Window."

While that may be the case now, I made the comment before reading that you had removed the links entirely. Yes, I suppose it is possible that I did try to access the site whilst you were deleting or managing the blog/site, etc.

I am one of the 15 who had the better sense not to vote the measure forward. However, I realize that that does not unfortunately absolve me of any potential action that the committee may take legally and for that among other reasons, I am very much leaning towards hopping ship from the party.

I didn't sign on to be part of a party the likes of which I've seen and witnessed in the handful of meetings I've been to thus far, as a rookie term committee member.

As far as Marykapp, Anne disclosed her situation to us at the meeting, she did not have to and while I understand what divorce is, because of my own in the past, if you put it on the street so to speak, these days it is likely to come back to bite you in the backside, sadly.

The fact is, filings at the court house with prothonotary's office are to my understanding 100% public record and barring a judicial order sealing the record or expunging it. There is little anyone can do to make it un-public.

How do you think credit card, mortgage, and other companies do background checks on people, hello...

Lastly, politics is politics and sometimes it is quite ugly and sometimes it is quite good.

A person's divorce is relevant when one is running for Judge and was caught by a court trying to hide $25,000 from his ex-wife.

Oh, and I use Log Cabin not Mrs. Butterworth's. Be very careful about unsubstantiated threats concerning libel.

John Morgan

I talked with a friend about the links situation and it's only happening with the domain name (BerksDemocrats.com). I always access the blogs from within Typepad so I wasn't aware of the problem. Since it seems to be something with the Network Solutions blind forward I'll get with them tomorrow and correct it.

Yes, divorces are public records available at the Prothonotary's Office. I spend a good deal of time there researching candidate's legal histories.

I have no interest in Anne's divorce proceeding. As I recall her husband filed during that campaign and shortly after that she went bonkers on us.

Here is what I know - the lawyers in this town DON't use evidence, laws, the Constitution, case law or the truth. They perjure, they falsify documents, they don't send important orders and they "make mistakes" that eliminate your appeal rights. When your District Attorney REFUSES to investigate (let alone prosecute) the prevalent White Collar Crime in this County for 18 years, what you get is corruption and damage that is beyond out-of-control. That is what makes this place so pathetic. THEY ARE EXACTLY THE SAME AS BUSH, CHENEY, GONZALES, ROVE, ETC.

What we have in this town is a microcosm that is thriving off it's own stink. It has been feeding at its own table for so long it is fat, sloppy and stupid. They will, and have embraced any, and every, opportunity to personally profit off of others. They need a constant influx of victims. They have no remorse, they don't understand right and wrong. It is about control and they will stop at nothing to continue. They are scared, they have been caught. If they lose Baldwin, they lose their big insurance policy. They all work together, there are no political lines of distinction. Caltigirone has been integral to their means.

I would ask that no one who is ethical resign or walk away. It will take an enormous commitment and self-sacrifice to evict and clean-up the pollution that has been festering during the DAs reign. It is as if Bush had 18 years of Gonzales.

If you think you are decent, take a hard look. People don't hide or attack for no reason.

John is willing to put himself on the line for right, most people would rather look the other way.

Let's hope Ms. Perridge is permitted a lawful divorce in this County - one that doesn't steal her children and over $200,000 of assets. Maybe that is why she needs to protect her friends, she knows how they make their money in this town.

Boy when all else fails how the insults come a flyin'. Lard ass...dim-witted...pig! Haven't we left name-calling behind in 2nd grade? Well, apparently not. I'm surprised I didn't read Nah, nah, na, na, nah. And for the record I use Mrs. Butterworth and I've even been known to still use actual LARD on occasion. So if anyone's gonna be called Lard-Ass it better damn well be me. But if you're gonna call me names you'd better have the courage to do it to my face.

That said, if you want me to revert to my 2nd grade years I'll be happy to unleash a torrent of name calling that would make a sailor blush but perhaps not for just now.

Thank you though marykapp for showing the true depth of your intellect. Your essay was certainly underwhelming and yawn-provoking. Perhaps you should start you own business...you'd make a wonderful professional asshole. Oh sorry...I had a 2nd grade moment there.

Thanks for the freedom to write as I will John, I've always had that freedom from you and I'm not alone. I remember when I replaced someone named Raven on your other blog when she left. She stirred up quite a hornets nest. If you were going to censor anyone it would have been her and you didn't and I know you took heat for that.

Nevertheless, I'm afraid that I'm going to disaapoint alittle this time. I won't be writing about my "gay for the moment" parlays with high-schoolers that are now in politics. That's not fair to them and what was is what was. They are all supportive of gay rights today and I don't want to betray their trust the way you were betrayed by the party. Besides, experimenting in high school is not such a big news story these days.

As for Uncle Tom...well...

John Morgan

I thank Kirk for his wise decision, one I knew he would make. It did cause some great anxiety and panic however and, I hope, created a very uncomfortable weekend for Mr. Caltagirone.

As for Raven, let me go on the record here since those who voted against free speech Saturday was very interesting. Yes, I made sure to note who voted how, and abstentions were, in fact, votes against me.

Raven wrote a very controversial article at The Pennsylvania Progressive shortly after the blog was launched. It had to do with a very powerful local politician.

That man then spent the next six months relentlessly pursuing Raven's identity. He went so overboard Raven moved out of Berks County.
