Per the law, if a US Attorney is put in place as an interim appointment, he/she is not allowed to hire/fire individuals. Such decisions are deferred to the US Attorney's Office in Washington. From what you report here, it appears that this scandal is much more sinister than initially thought.

The more the idiots at the DoJ and White House fight this, the more immoral and illegal situations are uncovered. And to show how dumb they really are, this whole thing would have never come to light had they, in the beginning, just stated that "the president, as is his right, is replacing some AGs, even though they did a fine job."
But when your arrogance and imperialistic tendencies come first, you can fuc*k up a wet dream.
