Maybe then he can give a more definitive opinion on the "hypothetical" use of waterboarding so he can determine if it is, indeed, torture. Following his Senate confirmation hearings he responded to a questionaire demanding a more definitive response to the question: do you consider waterboarding torture?
Judge Michael Mukasey has been unwilling to answer this simple question. Is it because he will, as Attorney General, violate U.S. laws and our international treaty agreements by allowing torture, inhumane treatment of prisoners and detainees and other repugnant and unAmerican practices? His refusal to answer this question directly means he isn't qualified to be AG. Simply replacing Alberto Gonzales with his clone is unnecessary and insane.
