Schmehl for President Judge?

No.  I don't think Judge Jeffrey Schmehl is a good choice for President Judge.  With Arthur Grim retiring the Eagle is reporting that Schmehl is being tapped as his replacement.  There are serious problems with the Judges in this County and he's part of the problem.  This Judge is way too political for such a position in my opinion.  It's bad example to set.

I am not familiar with Judge Schmehl's record as a judge, so I'll refrain from comment on his qualifications to be President Judge.

But I do have a question about why the other judges would tap him as president judge when he is up for retention this year. What would happen if he didn't retain his position?

Their action seems to be very politically influential, whether or not that was their intention.
