It's great having Peter and Melissa now contributing to the blog. Different writers bring different styles, perspectives and views to the issues and I think that's healthy. I doubt everyone just wants to read me all day every day. We also have some well informed, interesting commenters who are also an essential part of this community. I thank everyone for their involvement.
We've had a recent spate of spamming in the comment sections so I've reinstated the Capcha feature for comments. I hate this too as it's one more step in the process and figuring out what those numbers and letters are can be annoying. Yesterday saw a whole epidemic of spamming though and this feature weeds them out. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I'd also like to thank those who contributed to the blog recently, donations are gratefully accepted.
John,
I sent you this link in an email:

I hope you don't mind me posting it here. People need to read it and make sure you call Senator Casey's office on Monday. Does Casey know he is making himself a one term Senator with this kind of nonsense? If he doesn't, he's just as dumb as Santorum.

I'm not sure why you think this makes Casey a one term Senator? This is what he ran on: he supported President Bush's Iraq policies and agreed that all options were on the table for Iran. What, weren't people paying attention? This WAS his platform. This was the option Pennsylvanians chose in the primary. I'm sorry but I don't want to listen to any b*tching about his stand, we knew it before that election.

Sounds like Schumer and Co. pulled a fast one on us. He was the anti-Santorum so people voted for him regardless. I didn't pay much attention since, sadly, the primary was rendered moot. I am glad I didn't give him money. Other than this nonsense, what's Casey's record been like, voting wise?

It's been good except for his NO vote on stem cell research. Of course he also supported Sam Alito's appointment to the Supreme Court as candidate Casey.
